Ethan

*carefully draws many pairs of eyes*

  Ethan sat on his bed fingers tracing shapes onto the soft blankets. He ignored both of the aides that were going through his things eyes focused tightly on his own shapes. His focus started to blur as one of the aides tilted his chin forcing him to make eye contact. Ethan blinked in surprise and anger at the man trying to pull away.
  "Ethan do you have any color hidden in here?" The man's tone was kind but Ethan lashed out anyway, furious that they had pulled him from his thoughts. "Bad teacher take Ethan's color," he kicked out his legs trying to make the man back away. Both men watched him for a moment before backing up. "Lay down Ethan. It's time for lights out."
  He stayed where he was for a moment before laying down, tugging the blanket up over his chest. He kept frowning those his eyes were already back on his fingers as they drew. He didn't even acknowledge the lights going off or the locking of his door. The room was silent for a moment before he slid his hand down under the fitted sheet on his bed pulling out the leaf he had hidden there. Ethan lay his special prize on his pillow watching it change color long into the night.
